CRAFTSMANSHIP & DESIGN AWARDS 2008

Cartier Award Winner 2007

Gillie Hoyte Byrom studied at the Llotja School in Barcelona in 1990 where classical and contemporary enamelling techniques are still taught.   She also took Master Classes with Marie Angeles Cera de Derch.

Since then she has won many national and international awards for her work.

Gillie continues to broaden her knowledge by researching vitreous enamel painting techniques around the world and studying miniatures in public and private collections, whilst taking a particular interest in sale previews of enamel miniatures at London Auction Houses.

She is a member of several societies promoting enamels and miniatures, regularly exhibiting her portraits and contributing to international seminars.

Gillie works to commission and invites you to discuss a portrait you may have in mind.   She would be interested to hear from any other miniaturists painting portraits in vitreous enamel.
